I read your new article (crew selections) and wanted to know how I can improve my boat selection chances other than tech and erg?

What package you bring to your squad? Perhaps you have leadership or teamwork qualities that is noticed by your team mates and coaches. Do you add value to crew debriefs and feedback? Attendance is something that can work heavily in your favour or against you. Lack of attendance is quickly picked up if sessions are being missed and can resort in lack of trust.

Don't assume you cannot improve Tech and ergs. You always can improve. Technique can always be improved and you should sit down with your coach and ask the questions if you are unsure. Finally, the ergs. These too are something that can always be improved. Keep working hard and look at the finer details to help your progress including : nutrition/recovery/mobility/sleep.
